OUR MISSION:

We’re not just about amazing adventures, exploring ruins, and looking for treasure.

Our Mission is to discover, preserve and protect our past from the impacts of modern development, climate change, pollution and more. Our aim is to do this in a way that we can demonstrate these impacts to the public.

that way we can not only preserve our history, but also our planet and our future.

  • FOUNDER

Ever since I was young, I’d always been fascinated with the idea of travelling to far off exotic lands on exciting adventures.

Perhaps I’d been inspired by such characters as Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft or maybe this desire to explore the unknown was inherited, passed down through the generations from a distant ancestor who set sail to explore the “new world” as I would later find during my research into the famous pirate Henry Every.

My background as a wilderness guide, a private investigator and my studies in journalism were all a bit lost of meaning until I realised those skills could be paired with my passion for adventure, travel, and learning about history. From that it became clear that the path ahead was an unusual but exciting one, I'd found my calling as a treasure hunter.

I have since created Areas Grey: a treasure hunting website which covers my own adventures and which discusses some of the greatest treasure legends around the world.

You can find out more about me, treasure legends from around the world, and follow my adventures at: AreasGrey.com

Let’s See what I can tell you about me? Well every good story starts with a bit of Drama before the Adventure begins right? So here we go:

After almost dying from a Heart condition in 2014 , I dedicated my life to my dream; the pursuit of adventure, exploration and history.

In 2016 I lived in the jungles of Nepal to search for the Kumari caves, which I found in August the same year. After that, I went in search of a pirate colony on Hog Island in the Caribbean, retraced the steps of the Zerzura Club in Northern Africa, and so many other mysteries all around the globe.

Since 2017 I have worked as an archaeologist in Germany, where I learned to properly document, and handle findings of historical value, how to prepare any archaeological excavations and similar projects, as well as working as a part of an international Team.

I now also act as an Archaeological Consultant, a Field hand, and as an advisor for the Area Grey Expeditions.

Besides my passion for history, I have ventured into documentary filmmaking and travel journalism. But my passion will always be Expeditions and the search for lost history.

  • FOUNDER

Growing up in Australia in a military family we were always moving to new and exciting places, and I was always learning new things and making new friends. However, some of the greatest adventures that I felt part of were from the books of Clive Cussler. I wanted to be Dirk Pitt and see the things that he was seeing and uncovering. This is what started me on my journey! I started researching things like the Library of Alexandra, as well as famous (but unfound) shipwrecks. I started writing my research in journals, just like Henry Jones did in the Last Crusade and since then I have amassed a large amount of research I can always go back to. In University I even studied Marine Archaeology, where I was able to learn to dive leading to my ultimate dive on the I-1 Japanese Submarine wreck off Guadalcanal, in the Solomon Islands.

Life, however, has a way of leading you in a different direction, and now after traveling the world working on a cruise ship, meeting the love of my life and having two awesome kids I am still chasing my adventure. Over the past couple of years I have been able to work on many different research projects, but my main focus has been on the pirate Henry Every project. My background has made me a jack of all trades, I am also an adventurer, explorer, and treasure hunter, and I bring all of these to the League!
